Coming Back to College

    First Week Back
The first week back to college from Winter break can have students feeling a multitude of ways. For me, it is motivating because it's a clean slate and fresh start. My first week back for my sophomore year was uneventful but a breath of fresh air at the same time. While all of my classes consisted of syllabus day(s) and little to no assignments, it was still good to get back into the swing of things. That being said, classes were very boring. However, in the large amount of free time I had, I was keeping myself busy, by lifting, cleaning and playing videogames. It is also a great feeling to see familiar faces around campus, and talking to the friends I hadn't seen in over a month. Next week I assume things will start to pick up pace, but I feel ready to take it on.
For the time being, most of my time has went into my weight lifting training. After high school I didn't have sports to keep me busy outside of school. It was hard adjusting at first, but then I started training, and I never looked back. I have been consistently lifting for a little over a year and this week was great. It felt good to get back into the ONU facility. In conclusion, I hope this semester I can make some progress in the gym, while also keeping my grades good too.

The Social Media Effect
A topic that was frequently discussed in the reading this week, was the contagious effect that social media has. There are constant changes to the platforms, and new ones are constantly arising. COVID-19 seems to have had a massive impact on the social media industry too. This is because mostly everyone was working remotely, they had to gain exposure somehow, and social media was that way.
In conclusion, social media is a constantly evolving thing, and whether that be for the better or the worse, time will tell. There are a multitude of studies that proves social media time decreases attention span. However, there are a multitude of positives too. The impact of social media as a whole, has been huge. Could the impact get even bigger?
